SINGLE ROOM OCCUPANCY Program

The Single-Room Occupancy (SRO) property is located on Coral Street NE in Salem. The SRO units offer housing for eligible single women through the Mod Rehab program. The site features handicapped-accessible units and furnished bedrooms with shared kitchens, restrooms, and community spaces. Tenant rent is based on monthly income, and all utilities, excluding telephone, are included.

Priority is given to homeless single women, although single non-homeless women may also be served when there are adequate vacancies. 

This program uses the Section 8 income limit. To qualify for this program, your gross household income must be at or less than the limit as follows.

Waiting List Applications

It is important to keep all contact information updated with SHA while you are on the waiting list. You will be contacted by mail when your name comes to the top of the waiting list. If SHA's correspondence to you is returned by the US Postal Service, you will be removed from all waiting lists you are on.

The current estimated wait time is 12 months from the date of application. Estimated wait times may change at any time depending on funding, vacancy rates, and market conditions. SHA does not provide applicants their waiting list position and is not able tell you how long your wait will be.
