Redwood Crossings is Salem Housing Authority’s supportive housing development. Redwood Crossings offers single-room occupancy units for single-person households, including a private living/sleeping area and kitchenette with a shared bathroom and foyer for each two units. The development also includes one 1-bedroom apartment.

Resident Services staff at Redwood Crossings will work with residents to develop a service plan designed to help residents successfully maintain their housing and improve their self-sufficiency if that is their goal. Residents will be encouraged to engage in services offered at Redwood Crossings, but it is not a requirement to do so.

Anyone may apply to the waiting list for Redwood Crossings. Units are prioritized first to applicants assessed through the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency Coordinated Entry system and determined to be appropriate candidates for Permanent Supportive Housing.

Redwood Crossings is a 31-unit property.

Application and Waiting List Procedure:

Units at Redwood Crossings have rental assistance through the Section 8 Project-Based Voucher program. The waiting list offers a local preference to applicants who have been assessed through the Coordinated Entry system to be appropriate candidates for Permanent Supportive Housing and are referred to the waiting list by partnering agencies. When the waiting list is open, anyone may apply, but if you are homeless or at risk of homelessness, we encourage you to contact a community Coordinated Entry Assessment Site and schedule a housing assessment or contact ARCHES at 503-399-9080.

Reviewing the Redwood Crossings Tenant Selection Plan will help you see if you are eligible. If you have questions about this plan, please ask the Property Management Coordinator.

Reasonable Accommodations:

If an applicant or resident indicates that an exception, change, or adjustment to a rule, policy, practice, service, or physical structure is needed because of a disability or medical need, SHA will treat the information as a request for reasonable accommodation. SHA provides a Request for Reasonable Accommodation form for this purpose, but SHA will consider requests any time the family indicates that an accommodation is needed whether a formal written request is submitted. The family must explain what type of accommodation is needed to provide the person with the disability or medical need full access to SHA’s programs and services. If the need for the accommodation is not readily apparent or known to SHA, the family must explain the relationship between the requested accommodation and the disability. Additionally, if the family indicates that an accommodation is required for a disability that is not obvious or otherwise known to SHA, SHA must verify that the person meets the definition of a person with a disability, and that the accommodation is necessary to accommodate the disability or medical need.

Please contact the Property Management Coordinator for this property if you have questions regarding reasonable accommodations.
